Lactation Services

At Omaha OB/GYN, we are proud to offer personalized lactation support for mothers and babies. Our goal is to help you feel confident and supported throughout your breastfeeding journey.

Kim Vaughan, APRN, IBCLC, provides specialized lactation care for a variety of breastfeeding challenges, including:

  • Low milk supply or oversupply
  • Mastitis or breast pain
  • Nipple pain or latch difficulties
  • Newborn feeding issues such as low weight gain

Our Lactation Services

We offer weighted breastfeeding sessions to assess milk transfer and ensure your baby is feeding effectively, and you’ll receive individualized guidance on pumping techniques, feeding schedules, and ways to make breastfeeding more comfortable and successful for both you and your baby. We accept commercial insurance as well as Nebraska and Iowa Medicaid, and to schedule a lactation visit, simply call our office. Let us help you and your baby thrive together.

Weighted Breastfeeding Sessions

Our weighted breastfeeding sessions help assess your baby’s milk transfer to ensure effective feeding. By comparing pre- and post-feeding weights, we gain valuable insight into nursing efficiency and provide tailored recommendations that support successful breastfeeding and promote your baby’s healthy growth.

Pumping Techniques

We offer personalized instruction on pumping techniques to help you increase comfort, efficiency, and milk output. Whether you’re returning to work or building a freezer stash, our guidance ensures you use your pump effectively and feel confident in your breastfeeding journey.

Feeding Schedules

Our team provides support in creating feeding schedules that match your baby’s needs and your family’s routine. We help you understand hunger cues, establish predictable patterns, and promote healthy feeding habits that contribute to your baby’s growth and your overall breastfeeding success.

Individualized Guidance

We deliver individualized breastfeeding guidance tailored to your unique goals and challenges. From positioning and latch help to managing discomfort or supply concerns, our compassionate support empowers you with the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate breastfeeding with comfort and success.
